U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Laurel M. Isicoff said that when she was a practicing lawyer, she was part of the team representing Pan Am Airways during its bankruptcy in the Southern District of Florida. At each hearing, Cristol would ask her some obscure question about the aircraft. At one hearing for relief, Cristol asked her whether certain engines had their "C Check."
