A federal district court judge in Miami delivered bad news Wednesday to the Little Havana businessmen and their attorneys, who previously scored a $63.5 million verdict against Joe Carollo: they will not be able to seize the city of Miami commissioner's house under the Homestead Exemption Act.

In the case, the defendant, Carollo, is represented by a legal team composed of Mason Pertnoy, a partner at Krinzman Huss Lubetsky Feldman & Hotte; Marc D. Sarnoff, a partner in the Miami office of Shutts & Bowen; Benedict Kuehne, a partner at Kuehne Davis Law; and James Miller, a solo practitioner.
