A Broward County jury returned a $2.2 million verdict in favor of the plaintiff, who was hit by the defendant and suffered major physical damages.
But Kirk Alphanso Allen, the plaintiff, walked out of the courtroom, only capable of recovering $500,000, as the case was settled before the closing argument through a high-low agreement of 250-500. So, no matter what the jury decided, the minimum would have been $250,000 and the maximum $500,000.
