Two veteran South Florida business litigators and members of The Florida Bar board of governors qualified to run for president-elect in the 2010 elections, setting up a contested race for the first time in 10 years.
Plaintiff attorney Ervin Gonzalez, a partner at Colson Hicks Eidson in Coral Gables, and technology, landowner and insurance company attorney Scott Hawkins, vice chair of Jones Foster Johnston & Stubbs in West Palm Beach, filed qualifying papers by Tuesday’s deadline.
