The State Board of Administration, which oversees Florida’s employee pension funds, will hold a public hearing today to review submissionsby 12 law firms competing to represent the board in future securities class actions.

The hearing is the culmination of a process designed for transparency. The state put out a request for proposals in mid-October. Thirty-one plaintiffs firms responded. Six evaluators, including the SBA’s general counsel and deputy general counsel, ranked all of the submissions.
