Kroll has settled litigation filed by a Maryland trade group that purchased certificates of deposit through R. Allen Stanford’s Antiguan bank after the world-wide investigative and security firm vouched for the financial institution.

The Securities and Exchange Commission alleges Stanford Financial Group and related companies organized a $7 billion Ponzi scheme that stretched across the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. Stanford is in a Texas jail awaiting trial on fraud charges.
