Secretly made tapes between an imprisoned Miami man trying to erase his drunken-driving manslaughter conviction and his lawyer should remain sealed, a Miami judge ruled Tuesday.

Sean Casey, who is serving a 12?-year prison sentence, accused criminal defense lawyer Milton Hirsch – now a judicial candidate – of telling him to flee rather than face trial and claims tapes made without Hirsch’s knowledge prove it. Casey fled to Chile in 2004 and returned in 2006.
