First Southern Bancorp of Boca Raton has raised $400 million of equity capital from institutional investors for possible uses ranging from branch office acquisitions to bank takeovers.
Unidentified mutual funds and hedge funds invested $400 million in a private placement of newly issued common shares and preferred shares of First Southern Bancorp, the bank said Tuesday.
