Courts, which have been known to lag decades behind technological advances, haven’t gotten around to setting legal standards for the use of social-networking sites in the workplace, attorneys say.
“Employers today are grappling with the question, ‘Should we allow our employees to engage in social networking in the workplace?’?” said Allan Weitzman of the Boca Raton office of Proskauer Rose. “Any employer who has employees under 30 – and that’s everyone – needs to understand that’s how they talk to their friends.”
