The Florida Legislature has passed a bill that would standardize the rules of international arbitration in a move that attorneys in the specialized field hope will bring new business to Florida and particularly Miami.

The language mirrors a model law developed by the U.N. Commission on International Trade Law, or UNCITRAL. The Florida Bar pushed for the measure along with Associated Industries of Florida, the Beacon Council, the Florida Chamber of Commerce and several smaller chambers.
