Stephen Small asked Broward County Court Judge Peggy Gehl to withhold adjudication on a misdemeanor battery to keep the charge from affecting his immigration status.
Gehl was not moved. “Go back to Jamaica! Go back to Jamaica” she yelled, according to Broward Public Defender Howard Finkelstein.
