The wife of South Florida auto magnate Alan Potamkin, locked in a bitter divorce battle, is seeking half of the $112 million she estimates her estranged husband is worth.

But the amount of Potamkin’s holdings — and her right to them — will be hotly contested by lawyers in a six-week trial that started with opening statements Tuesday before Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Ivan Fernandez.
