A jury of seven women and two men was empaneled Friday in a 3-year-old shareholder class action lawsuit against Fort Lauderdale-based BankAtlantic Bancorp.

Opening statements are scheduled for Tuesday in a case legal experts call unusual: it will be only the 12th such ase tried since Congress clamped down on shareholder suits in 1995 with the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act.
