There was little suspense in one of three county judge races in Broward and Palm Beach counties, with solo practitioner John D. Fry the lone candidate to leap ahead quickly in his Broward race.

Hours later, appellate attorney Mardi Anne Levy Cohen built on her early lead to defeat criminal defense lawyer Frantz “Jahra” McLawrence in the second Broward race. Early Wednesday morning, former assistant attorney general and prosecutor Marni Bryson held a 53 percent lead over business litigator Laurie S. Cohen with 88 percent of precincts reporting.
