For the first time in at least a decade, The Florida Bar could see a three-way race for president. And while some see the competition as a healthy sign, others are not happy about it.
Two members of The Bar’s board of governors — Carlton Fields partner Gwynne Young in Tampa and Coker Schickel Sorenson & Posgay partner John “Jake” Schickel in Jacksonville — are officially running and in the process of collecting the required 1 percent of signatures, excluding retired Bar members, due Dec. 15. Young has been running for two years.
