A Broward Circuit judge has appointed an emergency guardian to oversee medical decisions for former longtime South Florida radio personality Neil Rogers, who has been hospitalized for open heart surgery.

Norman Kent, Rogers’ longtime lawyer and friend, said he petitioned the court to appoint a guardian “to protect Mr. Rogers’ person and to assist with medical decisions.” Broward Circuit Judge Mark Speiser authorized the appointment.
