In Florida, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney’s loss is Carlton Fields’ gain, but that doesn’t mean the Philadelphia law firm is panicking about its Sunshine State prospects or its recent spate of companywide defections.

On Nov. 15, nine health care attorneys left Buchanan Ingersoll’s Tampa office for Carlton Fields. The group was led by shareholder James J. Kennedy III and included now-Carlton Fields shareholders Linda L. Fleming, Edward J. Carbone and Jan Johnson Gorrie; of counsel Richard Oliver, Kenneth Harfenist and R. Andrew Rock; and two associates.
