Sales of existing homes surged in Miami-Dade County but fell in Broward and Palm Beach counties, according to the trade group Florida Realtors.
November deals increased 49 percent in the Miami area as the median price of houses fell 7 percent compared with the same month in 2009, the Realtors group said. Purchases declined 22 percent in Broward as the median price jumped 9 percent. Palm Beach County sales slipped 5 percent on an 8 percent drop in prices.
