Not long ago, Macy’s — downtown Miami’s anchor retailing tenant — threatened to leave if the area didn’t improve. Soon, sidewalks were pressure cleaned, giant flower pots installed along Flagler Street, a small park opened nearby, and a condemned structure next to the store was demolished.
Now it appears the giant retailer is taking steps to help add some spark to an evolving downtown.
