The difficult economic environment has caused law firms to trim the size of new partner classes and to stretch out partnership tracks in considering partnership promotions at several New York firms.
Though the number of new partner announcements this year is trending slightly upward compared to 2009, the classes remain smaller compared to the mid-2000s.
