U.S. Bankruptcy Judge A. Jay Cristol has ruled the Helms-Burton law has no bearing on a Chapter 11 case involving Cielo on the Bay, a 16-story condominium in North Bay Village.

The ruling issued Thursday shuts down Cielo developer Mario Egozi’s subpoena for documents detailing the relationship between his project’s mortgage note holder, Lauderhill-based 7935 NBV LLC, and Canadian real estate firm Thibault Messier Savard & Associates.
