After years of waiting, planning and spending, the cities of Margate and Pembroke Pines may finally see some development on the sites where they have long envisioned building their city centers.

Margate’s community redevelopment agency is in talks with Tampa Bay developer DeBartolo Development to become the master developer of the 38 acres along U.S. 441 and Margate Boulevard that the CRA acquired over the years with hopes it would become a major mixed-use development.
