As Florida entrepreneurs’ make their annual pitch for funding this week in Hollywood, some in the venture capital business acknowledge that investors in young companies have fared poorly.
“When you look at the venture industry as a whole over the last 10 years, we haven’t done a great job of delivering returns for our investors,” said Tom Roberts of Harbert Venture Partners, noting that the internal rate of return has been below that of the S&P 500.
