Gov. Rick Scott is proposing a 7.6 percent budget cut for the judicial branch, but Broward Circuit Chief Judge Victor Tobin said that may be more than courts can bear.

“I’m sure the governor has nothing but the best interest for the people of the state of Florida,” Tobin said. “I’m not sure the judicial branch or the 17th Circuit can incur the type of cuts that he’s proposed, but it will be worked out in the Legislature.”
