A lawyer from the state attorney general’s office told a three-judge appellate court panel Tuesday the agency should be allowed to subpoena records from foreclosure law firm Shaprio & Fishman to investigate allegations that fraudulent documents were used to seize homes.

But 4th District Court of Appeal Judges Martha Warner, Fred Hazouri and Spencer Levine didn’t seem convinced.
