Florida legislators are charging ahead with an ambitious agenda to slash the state’s budget and pass new measures limiting access to the courts, but nothing may be more aggressive than a campaign to harness the judiciary.

Proposed Committee Bill 11-01 would amend the state Constitution to move procedural rulemaking authority over the courts from the Florida Supreme Court to the Legislature. A second bill would implement the amendment if it is approved by voters.
