An 18-year career with The Florida Bar came to an abrupt end for a Fort Lauderdale senior counsel in the lawyer regulation division after the Florida Supreme Court criticized her for making repeated misleading statements during oral arguments.

The court faulted Lorraine Hoffmann in a Feb. 3 opinion for her conduct in the disbarment case of Miroslaw Lobasz, and she resigned Feb. 22. Hoffman is now under investigation by The Bar, according to Bar spokeswoman Susannah Lyle.
