When it comes to charting the number of Foreign Corrupt Practices Act enforcement actions brought in a given year, records don’t stand for very long these days.

Enforcement actions jumped from 2009 to 2010, rising 69 percent from 45 actions against 12 companies and 33 people to 76 against 23 companies and 53 people. And 2009 trumped the numbers from 2008 by 22 percent when 37 enforcement actions were brought against 11 companies and 26 people.
