Marika Tolz, once a prolific court-appointed receiver and trusted caretaker of seized property, siphoned off $2.4 million from accounts entrusted to her to maintain five Broward County investment properties, her prosecutor said Thursday.
The motivation for Tolz’s criminal activity after two decades as a panelist for the U.S. trustee office’s finally was revealed when she pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Jose E. Martinez in Miami to wire fraud conspiracy. He set a July 27 sentencing date.
