A group of Coral Gables residents won’t get another chance to take on the owner of a disputed marina operation after their attempt to have the trial judge in their case disqualified failed.

The 4th District Court of Appeal on Wednesday denied the residents’ petition to disqualify Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Ellen Leesfield over her handling of the case. Leesfield in March ruled the city of Coral Gables had the discretion to enforce zoning codes the marina’s neighbors said were being violated by its operation.
