The retail industry is likely to ring up more sales this year than last year, but greater caution among consumers could limit the growth.

“I would guess right now it’s going to be a 2 to 3 percent increase over last year,” said Rick McAllister, president and CEO of the Florida Retail Federation, a Tallahassee-based trade association.
