Once it came time to build a luxury house on Staniel Cay in the Bahamas for the Wirtz family, owners of the Chicago Blackhawks, Robert Kelly Blake decided he couldn’t do it.

After years devoted to his dream project, Blake complained to the general counsel of Fort Lauderdale-based Ellis Diversified, denouncing terms of an agreement that would have him relinquish his rights to the rest of the Ocean Ridge development.
