It seems that we cannot have a political discussion without the inevitable topics of “job creation” and “immigration” surfacing. They are at the policy forefront for both political parties. But the two contentious topics provide an interesting interplay that can actually stimulate significant economic activity.

Because Florida holds a unique position as an international business hub for the Americas, Europe and an evolving Asian demographic, the circumstances are ripe for Florida to benefit from pro job-creation immigration programs. And the attractiveness of the low U.S. dollar, coupled with ongoing security issues in other global regions, provides the perfect scenario for foreign companies, investors and entrepreneurs to avail themselves of immigration programs that can only benefit the foreign investor if jobs are created in the United States. There are also excellent opportunities for Florida-based companies to create ventures or partnerships with foreign companies which will infuse foreign capital, create local jobs and ultimately help stimulate economic recovery.
