No stranger to the Brickell area, Hong Kong-based Swire Properties is embarking on a major development it hopes will transform Miami’s financial district.

Swire, which remade Brickell Key into a high-rise condominium hub over a three-decade span, is believed to be a safe bet to follow through on plans for Brickell CitiCentre, a nine-acre project planned between Brickell and Southwest First avenues and between Sixth and Eighth streets. The company, which is part of Hong Kong-based real estate and airline owner Swire Pacific, has an impressive track record in the area, the cash needed to fund the phased development and all of the necessary city of Miami approvals in place to move forward.
