PetMed Express reported stronger online sales Monday as third-quarter profits beat Wall Street expectations.

The Pompano Beach retailer of pet medicines and products reported quarterly net income of $3.9 million, or 19 cents per share, compared with $4.5 million, or 20 cents per share, a year earlier. Although it was a 3 percent decline, it still topped analysts’ estimates of 16 cents per share, according to FactSet.
