Despite objections from business groups and the insurance industry, a Senate committee made major changes Wednesday to a bill that called for limiting the amounts doctors can charge for dispensing drugs to workers’ compensation patients.

The heavily lobbied issue has been a priority of groups such as Associated Industries of Florida and the Florida Chamber of Commerce. But with the changes, the Senate bill (SB 668) is dramatically different from the House version.
