A 7 percent budget cut in operating budgets for the state’s court clerks appears to be a certainty as time runs out in the legislative session, and the clerks are making plans to severely cut services.
The House-Senate conference committee shocked the clerks last week with the proposed cut. The clerks have since been unable to sway the conference committee heads.
