The last time President Barack Obama attended a fundraiser at Jeremy Alters’ Golden Beach house, it was 2007 and life was very different for the Miami plaintiff attorney.
Since then, Alters has faced lawsuits from former partners who say he owes them tens of thousands of dollars; from his former nanny and bookkeeper who alleges Alters owes her more than $178,000 for travel and clothing for his children, rent and personal spending money; from the Argentine law firm Raponi & Hunter which alleges in a Miami-Dade Circuit Court claim that it tipped Alters off to the Bank of America overdraft case, funneled clients his way, but never received a promised $100 million payout.
