Greenberg Traurig has dropped talks about a potential business combination with troubled Dewey & LeBoeuf as the New York-based firm disclosed an investigation by the Manhattan district attorney.

In a series of blows to the reeling Dewey & LeBoeuf, the Manhattan district attorney’s office opened an investigation into allegations of wrongdoing by chairman Steven Davis, who stepped down.
