Greenberg Traurig, Jones Day and Cahill Gordon & Reindel have been hired by Wal-Mart Stores as it copes with the fallout from an alleged bribery and corruption scheme involving a Mexican subsidiary.
Wal-Mart spokesman David Tovar disclosed details on the composition of the company’s outside and in-house legal teams as it moves to ensure compliance with U.S. ant-corruption and bribery laws and to investigate claims first reported by the New York Times of a cover-up of illicit conduct by executives of its Wal-Mart de Mexico unit.
