Kelley Kronenberg has added longtime lobbyist and former Congressman Lawrence J. Smith to lead the law firm’s government consulting group. He will concentrate on insurance law.

Smith served in the U.S. House of Representatives on behalf of the 16th District, which covered areas in Broward and Miami-Dade counties, from 1983 to 1993. He served as deputy majority whip and was a member of the Committee on Steering and Policy. Before going to Washington, he was a state legislator, serving in the Florida House out of the 96th District in the Hollywood area from 1978 to 1982. During his time in the Florida House, he was chairman of the Criminal Justice Committee and a member of the governor’s task force on criminal justice. Prior to his service as a lawmaker, he served as chairman of the Hollywood Planning and Zoning Board.
