A national payday lender tried to convince the Florida Supreme Court on Wednesday that it should be allowed to preserve a ban on class action lawsuits in consumer contracts.

McKenzie Check Advance, a South Carolina-based company doing business as National Cash Advance and Advance America, is appealing a Fourth District Court of Appeal decision that asked the Supreme Court to decide whether waivers to class action lawsuits in certain consumer contracts violate public policy.
