The Brickell CitiCentre is only in the early stages of construction, but its developer says it is closing in on securing a batch of retail tenants that could create significant momentum for the rest of the $1.05 billion project.

CitiCentre developer Swire Properties, the U.S. subsidiary of Hong Kong-based real estate giant Swire Properties Ltd., expects to announce its initial retailers at the project over the next three to four months, according to company president Stephen Owens. Construction officially began on June 27, and Swire is preparing to start excavation and foundation work for the project’s 4.3 million-square-foot first phase, which is expected to cost about $800 million.
