A Chinese drywall manufacturer that never set foot in Florida is nonetheless subject to state and federal court jurisdictions, a Miami-Dade circuit judge and a federal judge said in separate rulings.

Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Joseph Farina’s ruling, issued on his last day before retirement Friday, means Taishan Gypsum Co. Ltd. cannot contest its liability for defective drywall in a lawsuit brought by Miami-based builder Lennar Homes LLC.
