Almost every South Florida branch office of a Latin American bank was profitable in the first half of the year while area branches of banks based in Europe and other foreign regions reported spottier results.
“Latin American economies have performed better than the U.S. and Europe combined, so it has been booming, and we have been part of that,” said J. Antonio Bejaranom, general manager of the Miami office of Banco Internacional de la Costa Rica.
