One of the losing candidates for Palmetto Bay’s Village Council filed suit Monday against three residents and a website he claims derailed his campaign.

In the suit, Jim Araiza said he filed an erroneous campaign finance report Nov. 16, listing contributions received Nov. 2 instead of the correct date, Nov. 8. Election law prohibited candidates from accepting donations five days before the Nov. 6 election, and Araiza corrected his financial report, said the suit filed by attorney J.B. Harris of Coral Gables.
