Some of the stimulus money passed by Congress at the urging of President Barack Obama in 2009 ended up in the coffers of a Deerfield Beach church.
The Church of Brotherly Love’s social service component submitted grant applications to the city to provide middle and elementary schoolchildren with counseling sessions on crime, substance abuse, life skills development and tutoring.
