Certification of a second consumer class action alleging unfair practices was affirmed Wednesday in favor of homeowners who are suing the once-dominant foreclosure law firm run by Plantation attorney David J. Stern.
The Fourth District Court of Appeal, in a two-page order, allowed the 2009 suit to proceed in Palm Beach Circuit Court for an estimated 1,800 Countrywide Home Loans Inc. mortgagees who alleged Stern and the Law Offices of David J. Stern, acting as bill collectors, demanded improper payment for services.
