Wellington polo magnate and convicted drunk driver John Goodman’s furtive adoption of his girlfriend has been thrown out because he neglected to tell anyone he planned to give his two teenage children a much older sister.
The Third District Court of Appeal vacated the adoption last November, the day it heard oral arguments challenging its validity, and roundly criticized it Wednesday in a written order.
