A man who claimed he tore a tendon in his right bicep when he slipped and fell on a plastic Gatorade sign at a Wal-Mart store in Port St. Lucie recovered $1.17 million.

Tom Papakalodoukas, then 40, claimed the sign had fallen off a display. He claimed the sign moved when he stepped on it, causing him to fall. His counsel claimed the store was negligent for not installing the sign correctly.
